About Oddball Baskets

Oddball Baskets is an NBA blog and Podcast run by Andy Seidel. In it’s past versions, it has been (from 2017-2020) a general sports blog touching on NBA, NFL, College Football and Basketball, MLB, and more.  It was previously (2013-2016) focused on daily NBA odds and predictions,  commentary and offbeat news. In both iterations, the goal was to appeal to common fans and NBA die-hards alike and look at the league from a different perspective than you might find elsewhere.

Andy Seidel is the EIC of Oddball Baskets and would most accurately be described as a general sports nerd. He is a fan of all things Boston, and loves tall pitchers, slot wide-receivers with good hands, and Duke basketball. He started Oddball Baskets in 2013 to test his ability to accurately handicap NBA basketball games and break into the world of sports journalism. After several years of steady use, around 2017 it became a place for him to deposit his random sports thoughts separate from his corporate and less fun writing responsibilities. He lives in Wilmington, MA with his fiancée and their golden retriever Cheddar.

Ben Handler is the co-host of the Oddball Baskets Podcast (OBB Pod!) and an avid fan of basketball on all levels. His love for the Boston Celtics can only be rivaled by his feelings for Syracuse Orangemen basketball. In the past he has specialized in college hoops and NBA scouting for Oddball Baskets.

Past Contributors:

Eli Rohner, AKA erones, is a Memphis Grizzlies superfan and spends his downtime daydreaming about hanging out with Zach Randolph. Go Duke. Erones frequently wrote about betting, odds and analysis daily in his Rones Zone post. He has since gone on to start and run a successful sports consulting business, The Zone.

Nate Knowles is an Oklahoma City Thunder fanatic and is considered the Northeast United States’ foremost authority on frozen convenience store beverages. He looks great in shorts. Nate spent his time here curating NBA videos for YouTube Friday and writing commentary @ OBB.

Anthony Cappelluzzi, AKA the White Mamba, is an all around NBA fan, however ultimately it is the color green that courses through his veins. The Truth never lies, even if he is a Wizard. White Mamba focused on NBA news, previews and reactions for OBB.

Deniz Ipbuken has played center at a competitive level in basketball his whole life, but he enjoys filthy crossovers and wetting 3 pointers in his spare time. He is half-Turkish and has grown up a die-hard Celtics fan while also sharing the same birthday as his favorite player, Paul Pierce.
